So far Joe is doing very well, considering the shape he was in when he was admitted to the hospital. He has graduated to the Medical floor in a regular room, no more bells and whistles going off, just some oxygen.

He can walk now and use his hands. There is still some fluid retention but docs are working on it. We're thinking about selling shares in Joe's body to doctors. Maybe there's a market for it. So far he's seen an Infectious specialist, even though this isn't an infectious disease, a Rheumatologist, a Critical Care specialist, his Primary care doctor, his surgeon, a Kidney specialist and I'm trying to insist on getting his cardiologist in the mix.

I'd LOVE to see the lab bill for this foray. They were taking blood out of both arms and also from his IV line, 10 bottles at a time for at least a couple of days. I've been thinking that this is why he is anemic. Doctors are loving reading his chart, it's like a mystery novel to them. One even took time out to listen to his heart valves from different areas of the room, I guess because the 24 year old valve is so noisy.

But basically Joe says he feels fine and wants to go home, especially because we just got a little Shih Tzu puppy which we named Jude, guess why.

We haven't lost our sense of humor yet. The hospital is getting old though. I want some fresh air, not eau de bedpan!

You are a hoot! Congratulations on an incredible sense of humor on your journey. Give our best to Joe!
