Hi Jan, I have just been reading your post and wanted to add my support along with the other members. I had my aortic valve replaced three years ago next month at blackpool and was well enough to fly to the Isle of Man in one week.As we are of a similar age in your position i would seriously consider not having a mechanical valve as i find having to take warfarin very limiting if other medication is required for other conditions.Anyway the important thing is to write down your questions and get answers.Take care.
