As some of you may know I have a metal mitral heart valve and I am on warafrin. My level should be between 3 and 4, ideally 3.5. Since my operation last August only once I have been in the 3-4 range (3.3). The last few weeks I have had to go fortnightly for my warfarin test, and my INR has been around 2.7-2.9. Today I went and it was 3.4, I am so happy it is starting to settle down. I even hugged the nurse, probably looked and sounded like a daft bat at the time, but I was happy!

Nothing wrong with being happy. Maybe you could send me some of what you feel and perk me up. ;)

I also have a mechanical mitral valve. My range is 2.5 to 3.5. I thought this was typical for the mitral. Did your doctor say why he wanted you between 3 and 4???
