Have any of you seen the HBO movie "What the Lord Made"? I was able to see it On Demand, and it may be running on the HBO schedule, not sure. It's the story of Dr. Alfred Blalock and his assistant Vivian Thomas. It's VERY good, and really shows what early cardiology pioneers had to go through, not to mention the difficulties of a segregated country.

I thought so much of the movie that I kept a copy of it. I was going to mention it here, but must have forgotten. It's a good one to watch. Thank you for including it here.

I saw it too. It was very moving and the ending was a real tear jerker but worth every tear.

It's people like these that allow us to be here writing.

To think that prior to Dr. Blalock and Mr. Thomas' Blue Baby project, the medicine of the day was to not cut the heart. Where would we all be today if they had not taken the risk to perform these first surgeries.
