Grand Opening date
Well yesterday the 19th I met the team at Univ.Wash.and was very pleased with them.
Dr.Verrier and his associates were very optimistic about my surgery and post op and because,as I rationalized,I'm not into the ordeals of the mechanical device and all that goes with it,coumadin, blood tests etc. he had no problem with my choice of valve and we decided on Elsie (bovine)
If Elsie lasts me 10-15 years,I was told that because of my age that could be longer, that would put me between 77-87,and the thought of living to 80+/- is very thought provoking.
Oh yeah the big day is Oct.3rd,and am looking forward to it.Every one on the team all say the same thing, after surgery(over a period of time of course)there will be some significant changes, such as shortness of breath, tiredness, leg edema, and very possibly what was diagnosed as bronchial asthma is very possibly fluid build-up in the lungs.... well see.Sorry this is sooooo long but I had to talk to someone that knows the situation, and really appreciate you folks being here.
