Thanks for the post Alan. It is a very interesting study and I will investigate using Google Scholar instead of just Google in the future.
 
It's an interesting study, showing gradual improvement in the valve type.

Of course, "current" is a relative term in this field, and some of the valves being reviewed are no longer actually the "current" models, but the 15+ years old versions.

That's a frustrating part of research for valves, as there is so much change. We're always looking at what the last generation of products did. Nonetheless, that's a good thing, inthat it means progress continues.
