I have a 5-pound pork shoulder in the crockpot. I put it in on "low" at 8am. Will it be shredded apart by 7pm, or should I cook it for a while on high?
If it's a really good shoulder/butt roast, it should start falling apart. I just did one the other day and I was so disappointed in it. Even after 12 hours, it was still tough. Needless to say, I won't be buying my meat from that store again.
