Interesting, my surgeon said an INR of 2 - 2.5 was fine. However, my cardiologist said 2.5-3.5 and would prefer mine closer to 3.5. So, I follow his suggestion since it is the cardiologist that deals with patients year after year. Since I have to take quite a high dose just to keep it around 3.0, I just try for that.

Hi Gail and all,

I shoot for the 3.0 also, as my range is 2.5-3.5. I have noticed a couple of times with recent migraines, my activity level was lower and my reading went a little higher....(to 3.3 and 3.6 during the weeks that I was inactive for a couple of days, with no other obvious changes). I conclude from this, that lack of activity (or more activity...as in children) plays quite a role...certainly as much as diet changes do. Thank goodness we have a 'range' to work within and for home testing! I'm always thankful we have each other to share these things with!
