Has anyone had experience with liver cirrhosis caused by aortic valve disease?
My bicuspid valve was replaced with a bovine valve in 2007. For the last year, I’ve been having fluid retention issues and now possible liver disease. I’ve been round and round with pulmonologists, several cardiologists and a liver doctor.
A local small town cardiologist suggested a year ago that my valve was an issue but the cardiologist who has seen me annually for years kind of blew him off.
I finally got a referral to a specialist group in Asheville, NC. They immediately told me the valve could be causing pressure increases, right heart failure symptoms AND liver cardiac cirrhosis. They did their own echo after reviewing my records and believe their echo confirmed their thoughts. They’re doing a series of ct scans next week and then probably a TAVR.
Has anyone had any experience with something like this? How did it work out?
Thanks
