When I take my blood pressure on my home monitor I do it about three times because the results vary so much each time. Do other people find that - or have I just got a naff monitor?

Gillian, results CAN vary, however you should wait about 15 mins between each time you take it. Also, it can vary between arms. Is the variation very much change? Please reply. Love

Hi Gillian,

Hensylee is right.. you need to wait at least 15 min before rechecking the same arm. That gives everything that you just squeezed to a pancake.. time to expand and get back to normal.. hehehe..

You can always check your other arm right after you checked your first. The left arm should always be alittle higher than the right because it is closer to the heart, and the variation between the 2 arms should not be too far apart. I think my doctor told me a difference of 5 was exceptable.

Hope this helps..

Rob
