Recently went on Sildenafil "Viagra" for Pulmonary Hypertension. Anyone else on this or know anything about it? My head feels like it's having an erection :eek2: Do these side effects subside? Thanks, Dee

Hi Dee,

Yes, I am on 'revatio' or viagra, if you will. I've been on this medication for about a year now. When I first started taking it, the headaches were horrible! My PH specialist wanted me to take 30mg a day but I had to cut it back to 20mg & my headaches started to go away. I would get the headaches right after taking the medication so there was no mistake that that was what was causing them! My PH pressures were in the 80's when I started the revatio....they have come down to the mid 40's, which is wonderful!

How long have you been on it & what is your current dosage? You may let your doctor know about your headaches & hopefully he can reduce the dose which may relieve your symptoms.

Good luck & hope you find some relief soon!

I am on 25mg 3 times a day and she is going to up it to 50mg once I get use to it. Only been on it a week now and although I have the headaches, my lung congestion and cough seem to have lessened. Will have echo in a couple weeks to assess pressures. Knock on wood. Thank you!
