Hi Guys
Can any one tell me for sure, does alcohol and vitamin K raise or lower the INR readings ?
I asked my doctor but he said he doesn't know.

Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave - One of my sources I use says that alcohol can either raise or lower the INR. It has been my general experience that it tends to raise the INR. We have an expert who monitors this thread and I would encourage Al to comment as his experience far exceeds mine. I'd encourage you to stick around and monitor the various posts. There is a lot to be learned from a lot of pretty neat people here. Chris

I always understood that alcohol raised the INR, which has always been the case with me, and that K lowered it. BUT, I have been known to be wrong and freely admit it.
