A little info here. I read in the newspaper that a company named Philips Medical Systems in Andover Mass. has developed a 3-d ultrasound and it is being displayed at the American heart ass. show in chicago.
The live 3-d echo would enable techs. and surgeons to see the heart beating and the valves opening and closing from any angle while the exam is taking place. ( replacing 2-dimentional info that is fed to computer program for reconstruction.) Maybe this will give the surgeon a clear picture of what they will face when they open the patient up.
This is the same co. that has developed heartstart home defibrillator.
