so depressed all i do is cry

youngmom, You also need to know that you are only 3 weeks out as well. You body has had a huge insult done to it and it is normal for emotions to run high and low. Duffey has a great suggestion to visit with your doc and get on an anti depressant for over all coverage of the depression. Your...

so depressed all i do is cry

youngmom, Hi there, my name is Keith and I know where you are coming from. At age 32 I had a kidney transplant, at 40 an avr and at 46 again an avr with root replacement. Ticking Time Bomb

As to durability of a valve they are stress tested to 150 years or at least that is what my cardiologist told me. My first cardiologist did give me a life time warranty on my first valve though. He said if it failed it was end of lifetime. He was such a card.

    Ticking Time Bomb

Ticking time bomb they are. I had my first aortic valve replaced in 2005 and that thing was the noisiest thing that either I or my wife had ever heard. She moved out of the bedroom for a while so she could sleep. Elevators were always fun as well as working with people in a close environment...

Hi all. Its been awhile since I posted. I had a total root replacement on May 7th and recovery went well. This was my 2nd valve replacement in 7 years. I had my 6 month echo a couple days ago and they have found that the gradient across the valve has increased from 25 to 35. Granted echo's are...

How to not live in fear?

Ladylunte, Hi I had a kidney transplant 15 years ago, a aortic valve replacement 7 years ago, and now a total aortic root this last May. The only way to get through this life with all of this going on is to live life 1 day at a time and be thankful for every morning that you wake up and can...

selma, I had a total root replacement done on May 7th and am dealing with numbness in the left hand as well. All of my fingers but my pinky are completely numb and half of my palm. Just sharing an interesting tid bit

So here I am heading off to surgery. No drugs on board yet. I got to be crazy. If you all know that sign (I love you) I am making to my wife. I am told I would make that sign when she or the kids would come into my ICU room or leave when I was completely out of it. Amazing how the mind works.

Newbie here; I need advice... would I be out of line in asking for a second opinion?

Steve, Lets cut straight to the point here. You are the one paying the bill and it is your life that you are putting in your cardio's hands. If you are not comfortable with him/her then it is time to move and find someone you can build a good positive working relationship with. Get all your...
