No, don't get it. I had AA after a Ross procedure 7 years earlier. I went into AFib because the aneurysm was pushing on the heart itself. Very SOB, and radiating pain in the jaw. I'm glad you' re talking care of this now. Best of luck!
I have 2 valversaries. One was the original Ross procedure on September 8, 1998. The other was an aneurysm (I never spell this right) in the ascending artery (here's where my surgeon is rolling on the floor, laughing, because of me trying to explain what it was, ha!), it was "fixed" on July 19...
I heard that some patients with BVD also have weaker tissue. My Ross in 1998 was done with some dacron reinforcing, but obviously not enough. I had to go back in 2005 to fix an ascending aneurysm and I just hope and pray that this will be it!
I'm so sorry, Nancy. I'm also sorry about my late reply, I was out of town for a week. You and Joe are the people I especially think of in connection with our forum. You always find kind words for us, whether we are pre-oppers or post-oppers. God bless you and especially Joe, who I like to...

Soooo, that's why you bounced back so fast! I don't remember if Doc Ryan gave me steroids, but 'll ask my wife. It seems to me there was something.
Your the quickest back-bouncer I can remember. What are you doing on the Spyrometer?

Great news indeed. Welcome David to the Ryan-Ross-Club! Now comes the hard part: recovery. The most important thing is to take it easy. Sorry, Priscilla, no taking out the trash for at least a year!
Glad he's doing so well.
Good luck

David,
good luck for your surgery on Tuesday. Dr. Ryan is an excellent surgeon and you are in best hands. I can't believe its' been 8 years since I received my Ross.
Tell Dr. Ryan that Martin Kropf and his wife Dana say hello. He will remember, you'll see.;)
I wish you a...

Stretch,
for your surgery on Monday, I wish you all the best and I know, you will do just fine! Compared to what you've been through a few months ago, this will be a breeze, but remember to take it easy after climbing the mountain. Can't wait to see the pictures!

Great news, Jeff! I'm glad everything went well. Like many already said, now comes the recovery part and I hope it will be speedy for you. You'll have to tell me more about the procedure at some point. Take it easy!
Jeff,
As you are in surgery this very minute, I wish you the best of luck and Dr. Glower and his team a steady hand. Furthermore I wish you a quick recovery and the strength to take it easy (it's not as easy you might think, I was at the emergency room the same day I was discharged, I was just...
Ross Procedure in Dallas
Robert,
Dr. Ryan did my Ross in 1998 at age 33. I felt pretty good with him as my surgeon and the only other option I even halfway considered was going to Cleveland. He was very good in explaining what is being done and the folks at Presby were great. It seems so far...
Welcome home and welcome to the Ross procedure -club. So, when you say home, does it mean you're back in Brazil? In any case, rest as much as you can between activities like walking, breathing, reading etc. Isn't it amazing what they (the surgeons etc) can do these days?
I'm really sorry y'all have to go through this. Glad to hear Joe is doing ok, though. I' sure he's looking forward to some solid food. Keep us posted, please.
