I am almost 12 weeks. The time is flying by! I'm seeing the OB every two weeks and the cardio I go in two weeks. She said it was ok to wait a few weeks so......
I can't wait to get this over with and holdy new baby!
Thanks for responding and useful info..
I found out about the BAV and aneurysm over a year ago. I didn't take the news well. After thinking back I was very anxious about it. I think some of my initial symptoms were coming from the fear of "there is something wrong with my heart and I'm going...
I am pregnant with baby number 5. I have had four successful pregnancies and births before I found out that I have BAV and an aortic aneurysm that measures 4.5 cm.....
My questions are has anyone had an uneventful pregnancy with this and do they automatically do a c section ??
I'm alittle nervous
Steve-
Bp has dropped dramatically. It's usually around 95/45 to 105/55. My resting heart rate is between 40-60. And the weird thing is when I become the least bit active it jumps up in the 110-130 range.
I've always had normal bp until a few months ago it was a bit high. Now it's low....I...
Thanks everyone for your responses. I am having a MRI in two days. And then follow up with cardiologist the following week. I'm very nervous to what they might say.
I just had an appointment three weeks ago where I told the Nurse Practitioner about my symptoms. She said she wasn't convinced...
I am quickly starting to have worsening symptoms. I am so tired all of the time and light headed a lot. I get short of breath when doing normal activities. It's really bad when I'm working ( I'm a server). I also experience some chest pain. But the biggest symptom that bothers me is the...
Thank you for your response. I agree. Getting ready for surgery is awful. I hate just waiting! I want to just go in and get it over with. I'm ready. Let's do this!
I am 31 years old, with BAV and 4.7 ascending aneurysm. I have moderate to severe aortic regurgitation. I have quickly become short of breath very often and am experiencing a lot of PAC's and PVC's, which are very annoying. At my appointment 3 weeks ago my cardio said she doesn't want to send...
As far as a referral goes, I'd call my insurance company and ask if you need one to see a specialist. And a cardiologist will see you because you have a congenital heart defect. You need to be monitored. An MRI or a cardiac CT would give more information than an echo. Or maybe more precise...
I totally agree with you about the doctor saying just take it easy and wait. That's pretty much what they told me. I'm 31. I have four kids 14, 8, 6 & 18 months. I can't keep up. I'm constantly short of breath and tired.
I feel like I'm crazy to want to have my valve fixed to feel better...

I am also having symptoms of fatigue, shortness of breath, palpitations and chest pain...
I have BAV, just found it, Nov 2013. No one else has it yet. Though my grandfather died of a heart related issue and my father had congestive heart failure and died at age 52.
My daughter had a different congenital heart defect called Ebsteins Anomaly.
And incidentally I took my 8 year old...
Where are you having surgery? If you don't mind, who is your cardio, I'm from the area and seeking opinions.
Also sending my prayers for a speedy recovery!
