I wonder if the screws from that would be more noticeable in a thin person. I can see some of the knots from the wires in my chest and I can certainly feel them. Just curious.
Oh, and as far as drain tubes go. They used different places for both of my surgeries so I have 5 drain tube scars under my 9 1/2 inch long scar. I'll have to get a pic of the bottom later to show u guys.
your scar looks great! I think you will have a really thin line and not a bumpy scar like mine. I bet Ross is right, by next year it will barely be noticeable.
I had the Ross Procedure when I was 19. At the time I thought it was the best option for me because I wanted to have children and couldn't do that with a mechanical valve because of the coumadin. I thought the Ross would last 20 plus years. I was one of the unlucky ones and it only lasted 8 1/2...
I had the Ross Procedure in 2000 and had a homograft put in for my pulmonary valve. My aortic valve (which was my original pulmonary valve moved into the aortic position) wore out after 8 years. My homograft pulmonary valve is still going but like others have said a pulmonary valve replacement...
Malibu, this may sound weird but be sure to wear a bra as much as possible. The top of my incision opened up a little and now I have a raised spot at the top of my scar. I don't know for sure if it is from going bra-less after my surgery but that is what I have been told. My scar did this with...
This is an email that I sent to On-x today. Thought I would share it with you.
Dear Ms. Doty:
Pertaining to your e-mail below, the PROACT study still has over a year to go before we can even hope to publish preliminary results. Patients within the study were asked to commit to five years of...
Just curious about wether Plavix is any better than coumadin if I had a choice. Thinking about the OnX trials and I dont know that it would be any advantage really to be on Plavix instead of coumadin other than the fact that i wouldn't have to check my INR and I guess there arent as many...
I have never been told anything about connective tissue disorders in relation to BAV. I learned about that here on VR. I do tend to get really deep stretch marks and of course had my aortic aneurysm. After having my 2 kids I had prolapse of basically everything "down there". Of course because no...
so the official name is Rectus Sheath Hematoma. Somewhat common in anticoagulant users. Can be cause by any sudden movement basically. One woman got one from jumping out of a chair too fast. Another got one from reaching up to fix a curtain rod. SO I guess they cannot blame my exercise on this...
I got to come home today. Will resume my normal Coumadin dose tonight and check my INR on Tues. Am being very careful not to open anything back up here. Thanks for the well wishes!
