Well, I finally got around to scheduling my surgery. Doc wanted to move it up because my blood pressure has been going up. So it's March 25th. It's starting to feel real, now. I talked to the surgeon today. I'm feeling reassured, as he says the risk of death from surgery for my age and health is around 1%. But now that it's getting closer, it's freaking me out a little. Not looking forward to the big giant scar on my chest. Hate to ruin the view for my husband, lol. I know that's not important, my health is. But still...

Wishing you a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. Its not easy but the waiting can be one of the hardest parts, all the best.

I think we all go through the feeling of "freakin out" once we have a date. Just try and keep youself busy and the time will fly by. I will be thinking of you on the 25th. I will probably be drugged up w/ pain meds (mine's on the 23rd), but I will be thinking and praying for you.

Hey, is anyone else going to be in Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis for the week of March 25th? I won't have any visitors, maybe I can wheel myself down to someone else's room! Okay, maybe not wheel myself. Maybe hobble. I wouldn't be strong enough to wheel myself NOW. LOL.

You will be fine - just try to focus on the fact that this surgery will allow you to be around to enjoy your children for a long time to come. However, a certain amount of "freaking out" is our right prior to OHS.:D;)

Good Luck Deogloria!. I believe Dolphins are signs of good luck and i saw 5 today while at the marina. Knocking on wood doesn't hurt either! I'm 62 and I had OHS to replace my aortic valve and everything came out great! You have 6 kids so don't worry. You can't get out of here that easy! If I know Moms, you are way more concerned about your children than yourself. Be comfortable in the knowledge that your doctors are perfectionists who have spent their entire lives learning and practicing. You are in the care of wonderful people!

Wishing you the very best on your upcoming surgery this Wednesday. We will be waiting on the other side of the mountain for you, so until then, Godspeed my friend! :)

As one c-section mom to another (although I only had 2), if you can do that, you can do anything! Good luck; I'll be thinking about you and wishing you well. We won't be that far apart in terms of recovery--and I can just imagine you scooting around the halls reassuring other folks.

I wish you the best of luck on a sucessful surgery, and fast recovery. Good luck to you & your large family. Just think on the other side of the mountain you can have your kids run around for you a while. I myself would get an airhorn to make sure they hear you. God Bless
