Hi Team,
I have been sent this reply from Wakefield Hospital regarding my Aorta Valve Brand.....At this point I can tell you a SIZE 28 MM ATS MECHANICAL VALVE was fitted during your Operation in 2006.
Any comments ?

Regards....Kevin

There is nothing wrong with ATS valves. Just not heard of very much, but they are respectable. Were you expecting to have received something different?

Just keep the info on your person somehow so that med pros know what they are dealing with should anything happen.
I'm not trying to scare you, just good info for med pro's should you need them. I carry a laminated card indicating my mitral valve repair device. I keep it in my wallet.

My husband has the ATS aortic valve. That was the one Dr. Puskas recommended when he did hubbys surgery at Emory in Atlanta. He had his surgery 8 years ago this September and has had no leakage or other problems. We can hear it ticking but we have both gotten use to it and it is now a reassuring sound when we lay down at night.

You can visit the ATS website at www.atsmedical.com

Click on the boxes for Patients, Physicians, and Products to learn more. They also have informational notes thay you can click on on the left side of the Home Page.

Hi Kevin,

I have never read or heard anything negative about the ATS valve and it has been implanted in over 125,000 patients worldwide. Not an amount equal to St. Jude but certainly not insignificant. Unless you are having issues, I think you can be comfortable with your valve.

If I was to get a replacement today, I would strongly consider ATS. I've met people from many valve companies, and the ones from ATS really impressed me. I have been negligent in posting some info they gave me. I'll have to find it and post it. One thing I really like about the company, is they seem really focused on science, and factual data, and less on hype than some others. One of the perks of my job, is that I get to go into trade shows of all sorts. Over the years, I've met reps from at least 5 valve makers. I was really impressed with ATS. Brian

Thank you so much everybody who replied, I now feel so much more comfortable about the choice that my Surgeon made for me .
The web site that Alcapshaw posted was very informative and reassuring.

Kind regards................Kevin
