Ian & Rose are Grandparents

First I get a new Aortic Valve and now my oldest daughter has given birth to my first grandson.

He was born at 7:01 EST today, March 6, 2009. He weighed in at 7lbs 10oz. They have named him Mateuzs.

My only regret is that they are way over in Montreal and I'm in Victoria. I'm sure in a month or two I'll feel up to the flight to go see them. I just wish we lived closer.

We already have a web cam and will be on Skype or MSN as soon as our daughter gets out of the hospital. I can't imagine what parents went through before technology. All of our children love travel and it is so nice to have been able to communicate with them. I don't think we would have survived with those postcards that arrive three weeks late or those very expensive phone calls.
