Just took a look at the In Loving Memory forum. It's getting much too long. I read through all the thread titles and it just made me very sad to see so many we care about listed there.

Thinking of all their families today.

Although it is sad to lose loved ones, I am reminded of a quote from the movie "The Other Side of the Mountain":
"How lucky I am to have known someone that saying goodbye to is so damned awful."
Trying to focus on such thoughts helps me get through things that I know, as I grow older, will come more and more frequently.

Sad indeed.... helps me remember to try and make someones life a little better each day.... I am sure Valentines Day may be very sad for those have lost ones they love .... special prayers are in order.....

Very true, Karlynn.

And, that list is much longer for me, in terms of others who have died from other groups/boards of which I'm a member. Some of the boards have started an "in memory" type section, while others have a "We miss you" statement on the front page, etc.

It truly is amazing how the internet has made us humans more a family than ever before, imho, anyway.... And, in my experience anyway, it was the death of a longtime member of one of my Monte Carlo groups that drove my "urgency" for doing road trips and meeting people...and I haven't had a bad experience yet. Sure is always nice to get together and spend time with people.....

Being the youngest in a big family, I had to say too many goodbyes starting at an early age; and it was always getting harder rather than easier! Only the last few years I came to peace and I now accept the idea to cherich the toughts and memories we have shared with those we lost and to feel blessed and happy to have had them in my life no matter for how short a time it was...better than not having had at all...each one had touched my life in a unique way that was very helpful to me then and now!

May God bless their souls always and have mercy on us.

I completely echo Eva. I've lost many a loved one myself and was much too young to lose a parent when I did...no matter how old we are, it always feels like it's too soon to lose Mom or Dad.

Each time I see a new entry in In Loving Memory, my heart aches.
