Kerri started her radiation on Tuesday. She'll have 17 treatments. She seems to be having a little more trouble with the radiation versus the chemo. All the preparations they do to a person getting radiation has kind of thrown her. They had to make a mold of a mesh mask for her face and neck. This is used during each treatment. It's placed over her face while she is lying on the table and the mask is bolted down to the table. It's to keep her from moving her head. She said even though the treatment is short she feels like she can't breathe with it on. She also has tattoos on the spots that get the radiation beam. They are radiating her neck, left underarm, and upper chest. She said it really scares her to think about the radiation going into her. Please pray that the treatments get a little easier for her. Thanks for remembering her and Ben during this time. LINDA

I feel for anyone going through this. I watched my mom through both radiation and chemo.

Thinking about her lying on that table just makes me cry. I can almost feel how scared she must be but I am sure I am nowhere near her extent.

I am praying for her and hope things get a bit easier as this goes on and everything turns out well.

It sounds like a very uncomfortable, to say the least, thing to have to do. She has my prayers.

She has my prayers. The preparation for radiation is stressful, but hopefully it will become routine for her after a while and we will all do the "happy dance" when she is through this.

I'm a cancer survivor( Five separate malignant melanomas diagnosed on me) too. God bless you and Kerri.

I too I'm a cancer survivor. I had both radiation and chemo. You get very tired physically and mentally with both treatments. Tell her to hang in there, there's light at the end of the tunnel.
Everything they do is for a reason to protect other parts of your body from damage.
She will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Keep us posted on how she's doing.

I am a cancer survivor too (twice, living with leukemia now) and had radiation and chemo. It's not fun! I learned to use that time as a special prayer time. It does make you extremely tired. I got burned real bad under my right arm so I got a break from the daily radiation until it healed which took about two weeks. Kerri will be in my prayers.

My prayers go out to Kerri during this tough, tough time! I pray that the Lord grants her the strength during this difficult time & that the treatments will get easier for her as time goes by.

We will celebrate with her when she is done!

My mother had residual damage to her mouth and teeth following radiation to her neck for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, so I understand why they are taking the precautions with Kerri. However, I don't think I could stand to have a mask fastened to my face during treatment; she is stronger than I would be.

Kerri's traveling down a hard road, and I will keep her in my prayers that the journey is less difficult than what is anticipated.
