Just fantastic!

Just fantastic!

Thanks for the quick update, Buffy's hubby! Bless your heart for taking the time out of what had to have been a clearly stressful day (understatement)!!! This is going to be one of those times that you will be able to remind Buffy just how much she means to you and your life by all that you help her with and do for her (as you obviously have been doing pre-op!)

I think - if you are able - the other folks are wise in suggesting that you get as much rest right now as you possibly can! Things always feel/seem so much worse when we are tired! Rest is a great "vitamin"!!!

We all look so forward to any updates you can give, and wish you both love, health and the best recovery possible! Prayers like crazy! ;) Take good care, and always remember... you're awesome , and you will both get through this just fine!!! :D

Buffy Update! Friday, 23rd.

All going well. She had a little breakfast but could not hold it down. She's still a little sick from the Morphine. Tonight she had a little dinner and did much better. Stayed down!!
Tomorrow they are going to get her up for a walk. She's looking good and feeling much better than she thought she would be. The one thing I can recommend is lots of rest and don't be afraid to tell your loved ones you need it. She had to much family with her today so it made her,, I think more uncomfortable. I know, that's not a easy thing too do.
Thank you all again. Sincerely; The Buffsters Hubby :)
Oh Ya! I printed off all your replies this morning and brought them to her. She loved that. Big smile on her face when she seen that. And yes, she read all of them.

Thanks Buffsters Hubby, yep sometimes you just have tell family that your tried and to come back later..they'll understand.

When it comes to food, take small bites and chew it really well....eat slow, this may help the tummy to except solid food again.

One day at a time there girl, be good to yourself.

Congratulations that's wonderful news, and you take care also. Get your rest when you can.

That is great news again, Hubby of Buffster! That was so thoughtful of you to print out all the well-wishes for her to read!

During my many stays in the hospital, I often dreaded when my visitors were going to leave, but usually fell asleep as soon as they did! Rest is the greatest healer, second only to love! Hope you are getting your share of rest finally... it is exactly what you need to "keep it together" as wel!

To Buffster - you can be proud of yourself! You've been through one of the greatest challenges already and made it just wonderfully... now you know your strength and courage... you can truly handle anything that faces you in your life with understanding and trust - keep up the great effort and keep up your spirits! Love to you both!

More good news--thanks! The walking may help the digestion calm down. I found visitors very tiring even the first few weeks at home. (People want to be helpful, but don't know how. Tell them to plan to take her for short walks in a couple of weeks.)

Best wishes for continued smooth recovery.

Hi everyone!
Buffy Update. Jan 24th.
Just back from the hospital and she is doing well. She walked down the hall today!
Tomorrow physio starts. She is in a little pain still but not so bad. She says the same as Cameron, she feels like she was hit by a truck! her exact words... Buffy asked for some home cooked food so I know she is feeling better. I told her about the little bites and that helped with her dinner tonight. Great advice sure does help.
Thank you everyone for all your support for Buffy and myself. Again, I cant thank you all enough.
Sincerely; Buffy and Hubby
I will do a print out for her again tomorrow afternoon :)

Don't be surprised if she's not happy with even home cooked food. Her taste sensations are going to be messed up for a couple of weeks. ;)

Buffy and Hubby,

Welcome home and time to rest for both of you after all this. I was very happy when I went home and tasted my sister's food...could not eat more than a couple of bites. Remember little or no salt in food!

Good luck to both of you:)

Walking!?

Walking!?

That's amazing! Just so happy for you both that you're already on your feet, Buffy... it just shows whatever y'all did, you did it right! Keep up the good work, Buff and Hubb! Hope you are both sleeping better, home cooking huh? I can imagine... as wonderful as the hospital staff are, the cooking often leaves a bit to be desired  I think maybe it's part of their ploy to get you out of there and on your way :) As if you need their help on that one!

These positive updates mean so much, and I know that everyone here is encouraged by your progress Buffy. Although different than your surgery, my recuperation is coming along well. It just seems to "drag" sometimes. It will be six weeks on Tuesday, which happens to be my birthday so I am going to get lots of rest and order-in dinner (Tim Horton's) with a few friends. (Kidding on the Tim's part, though) :D

Will tip my glass to you, your husband and family in celebration of good health and speedy recoveries for all! No more "gasoline soap" showers! Cheers! :D

Glad to hear she is walking and holding her food down better. She'll be home before you know it!

Buffy update.
All is going very well. She is looking so much better today. She did the physio and it went well. Buffy is up walking and getting, so so much better. She didn't get much sleep last night. Some of the other ladies in her room have problems during the night so it keeps her awake. One of the nurses brought her ear plugs for tonight and at around 10pm they will give her a sleep aid. All in all she is feeling well.
Thankyou gang, your advice and love sure go's a long way :)
She is looking forward to coming home and posting her progress to you.
Oh, also her appetite is doing good. I brought her some dinner tonight and she ate a fair amount. She says her taster is good.

She is happy to hear about Cam and Zipps progress!
Sincerely; Buffsters Hubby.
