My surgery has been bumped up to Jan 22 from the 23. When I got the message to call the surgeons office this afternoon I thought it was going to be them saying it was cancelled...but now they have moved it up a day. Better than being cancelled but now I'm feeling panicked. I realize all these feelings are part of the process:)
In the VR family we have a lot of surgeries this week, and I just want to wish all of you no postponement/cancellation/or complications, and a great recovery.

Just wondering for you that have already had surgery for avr, how many days did you have to stay in the hospital? My surgeon said it may be 7 days, than I see today Dale is home in 5.

Buffy .... sending you all good wishes for successful surgery and smooth recovery.
Please let us know how you are doing as soon as you are able.

Lucky to be able to go a day earlier. I would have welcomed having one less day of pre-surgery jitters. :)

Godspeed......

My son was a tough case and has permanent heart damage. 10-14 days post surgery in the hospital for him on both OHS.

Good luck, we look forward to seeing you on the other side of the mountain.

I was in the hospital for 11 days for my AVR, but I was in there 3 days before. So post op.....8 days. Wishing you a successful surgery and recovery. Prayers.

Buffy, good luck and best wish for a successful surgery and a smooth recovery.

I stayed 12 days but only because my INR was low and my surgeon did not want to release me before it was in range.

:)

It is different for everbody how long you stay in the hospital. Wishing you a successful surgery and a speedy recovery, all the best.

I changed the date on the calendar. Hospital stays are individual depending upon complications and recovery, but most are 5 to 7 days. Dick was home on the 5th day.

Hi Buffy,
Best wishes for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. My surgery is more than three weeks away still and I'm already panicky. I can't imagine what you are going through (yet!!).
