Hi all

The hospital has notified me of my new date for surgery: 28 January 2009. I haven't been looking forward to getting this letter, but at least now I know there's only a couple more weeks to go. For some reason they seem to think I'm female.

Great news Andy .... the waiting "is" the hardest part .... get that gender thing straightened out ... you wouldn't want that cath inserted in the wrong location:D .... best wishes and Godspeed......

Congratulations on getting a date! I've put you on the calendar, so it's official!

Getting that date really is a mixture of trepidation and relief isn't it? Hope you make the most of the Australia Day weekend - might be a great way to distract you before the surgery.

Meanwhile, you really have to stop wearing those dresses around!! ;) :D

All the best,

A : )

Just wanted to say welcome & to wish you well with your upcoming surgery. Hang in there --- the waiting is the hard part but once it's all done & over with, you'll be able to get on with living! :)

Good luck to you!

Thanks everyone for the messages of support. Ross, I've checked my chest and there's no sign of any strange developments, so I think I'm safe for now.

Deb, I hope everything turns out well for you in the next couple of days.

Got a new date for surgery

Andy,
You're bringing a date to your surgery?
She must be one special lady.

Well, don't forget to tip the anesthesiologist - your operation will go smoother and the classy move will impress your date.

Congratulations! I'm actually right behind you, hopefully getting my operation in early Feb.

Good luck

Alerion: I always get a giggle from your posts and hope to read a lot more of them in the future as you invariably bring up important stuff.

Dyna:

I’m nervous too (that’s only normal, isn’t it?). However, I’m sure sex-change operations aren’t funded by the Australian public health system, so your concerns are almost certainly unfounded. That said, family legend has it that my uncle once had surgery for a broken jaw only to emerge minus his tonsils…

Beha: you’re a week ahead of me and best of luck to you as well.

Andy
