My hubby & I took a little road trip on Sunday to the Cloudcroft/Ruidoso area. It is a beautiful mountain resort well-known for it's gaming casino & of course "Ski Apache". I was curious how I would feel in a higher altitude & I felt just fine, so that was a big relief! :)

I captured these three in a pasture as we drove by. They were just running about & having a good ole time. (there's more pics of the area on my album, attached.)

What a great pasture picture......I just couldn't imagine ever living in a city again.

I thought of you & your beloved little nubians when I snapped this pic! I bet they would have had a blast w/these 3 guys! :)

P.S.
I couldn't imagine living in the city either!!! :p

My horse is sadly missed by everyone here....barn kittens used to climb up into his long thick tail. I wish I had a pic of that!
Now my goats only have the cat to interact with, but they would like another horse.
Don't get me started...LOL

Cute pic! My cousin's horse, Peppers Pride, won her 17th consecutive race at Zia Park on Saturday, setting the modern North American Record for consecutive wins. She had planned to set this record at Ruidoso Downs a while back, which is why this thread made me think of it, but Hurricane Dolly had other plans! Before that, she shared the record with Triple Crown winner Citation, two-time Horse of the Year Cigar, Mister Frisky and Hallowed Dreams. I'm not sure where Zia Park is in relation to where you New Mexico people are, but she's scheduled to run again on November 9 for a new record.

Zia Park is in the Rio Rancho area of NM, by Albuquerque. It's about 4-1/2 hrs North of where I live. Ruidoso Downs is East of us.
