Hi I am 28 years old and I have been on coumadin for about 7 months. I just haven't felt the same...I get pain in my legs after only walking thru the store.
I have blurred vision...and I am always exhausted...I was just wondering if anyone else has felt this way on coumadin...or is it just me? Thanks for your help!

Don't think I've ever heard of anyone experiencing that from Coumadin, but I have when they are anemic. Have you had a complete blood count lately? Being a double valver, I'm wondering if your valves aren't chopping up your blood cells. It does happen.

Can you describe the pain in your legs? My 18 yo son has terrible pain in his legs since his last OHS. we have not figured it out yet, but I have never suspected the coumadin. What other meds do you take?

Have you had valve surgery? When?
I had fatigue and other symptoms until about 9 months post-op. Those symptoms were NOT related to being on warfarin, but because I was still recuperating from an "engine overhaul," you might say.

You may want to schedule a visit to your family doctor first, then your cardiologist.

I agree with Ross. Get a blood test and find out what's going on. Coumadin is a pretty side-effect free drug. Are you taking any other meds besides Coumadin that you didn't list on your profile?

The leg pain feels like cramping....the only other med I am taking is Prozac...

Personally, it sounds like your low on potassium and perhaps slightly or more, anemic. I hope whomever you get for a cardiologist orders up a BMP for you and CBC.

Al (and Ross):
Glad you were able to find the member profile info.
I still can't figure out how to with the recent changes.

I just clicked on her "screen name" which brought it up ...

AFTER I had gone to "user CP", clicked on "Log Out", logged back in, and selected the VB3 style.

As far as I am concerned, the 'New Glass Style' SUCKS.
