As you know Curtis had a repair, that is slightly leaking again. He will be having a third surgery to replace his valve,

So glad to hear that you and Curtis are home....bet he's happy to be home with his own pillow :)
Now I don't want to sound rude or insensitive, probably more ignorant because I don't know the answer, but I'm curious to know why the doctors didn't replace the valve at the same time?

Look after yourself Paula and best wishes for Curtis for s a smooth recovery.

to all the above. I'm hoping for (and betting on!) a smooth recovery. Kids seem to have powers of recovery that I can only dream about:D

Paula, So glad you are all home! Hope you can all get a little rest now! All the best to the Tiger.

I am so pleased to hear you are home again and this surgery is behind you. You know the drill(very well:))....rest (for both of you!), walk, deep breathe and watch the salt. Thank you for letting us know so soon and I hope this recovery goes very well for him. Cyber hugs to mom.

Thank God it's over & done with!! :) I am so happy to hear that Curtis is back home & on his way to recovery!

Now you need to sit back, take a deep breath & relax too! I hope that everything continues to be smooth from here on out!

Take care!:)

Thankyou so much everyone. Curtis is recovering really well. while me and his dad are just getting back to normal:rolleyes:. Curtis would be out and away on his bike if we would let him, it is hard getting him to rest but we are not allowing him to play out. He as had a few friends come round and sit in with him watching tv.
Freddie, we knew before surgery that the valve would fail again and that Curtis will need a mechanical valve one day. The surgeon is hoping to get years out of the repair. He felt that Curtis was to young to have one now and with him being a child we decided to go along with his decition, whatever he felt would be best for Curtis. Although his valve is leaking slightly already. The surgeon as removed the blockage. So we are hoping he will still have a better quality of life.
Curtis is now taking Furosemide twice a day and Captopril three times a day.
Thanks everyone for all the support. Paula

Thanks Paula for answering my question, I hope I didn't offend you.

Take Care and look after yourself. Best wishes and prayers.
