Can I ask for a clarification of this? I am also a large person, 44 in waist, 280# at 6'4" tall. My acending aneurysm is 5.1 at it's worst with a BAV. The cardiologist never said anything to me about it being acceptable for my height/weight.

Let me start by saying no aneurysm is acceptable; however, it is not as much of an emergency situation with a 5.0 ascending aorta being my size than it would be for; say my son who is 18yo- 28" waist about 5'7" and 155# and about 14% body fat. If he had a 5.0 I would be damanding action by the docs.

Don't take this wrong, but it sounds as if some of your size is from excess weight. A 44" waist even with your height would be something that needs to be dealt with. I would guess your BP stay higher than it should; partly due to the wieght.
Question, If you got your weight down to somewhere around 15-20% body fat what would you weigh and about what would your waist size be? I am curious as too whether your base frame is more like a slinder basketball player or thick linebacker.

I got to almost 300# a year ago and my waist never exceeded 40". I hope that gives you an idea about the type of frame I am speaking about. My frame is very large and the size of the individual directly affects the size of your heart, aorta, and arteries. Hell, I have a hard time buying watches that fit around my wrist.
