This Thursday marks one month since my surgery. I really don't have any complaints. I haven't had any real issues to speak of and have been luckier than most in that I have been sleeping better than I had for months before my surgery and have been comfortable sleeping on both my sides and stomach since the minute my chest tubes came out (day 7). I also have had absolutely no pain when coughing or sneezing (haven't needed a pillow at all) and that has been since I woke up. I have found the whole "coumadin thing" to be a non-issue. Really, my worst was that week in the hospital and I have only been feeling better since then, touch wood. Let's hope it continues.

Thanks to all of you for your support.

Kim

Great news, Kim. Keep up the good work and best wishes for a complete recovery.

Hooray for Kim.
Sounds like your doing just fine.
What ever your doing now......carry on.

Here's to you kid for a continued smooth recovery.

Cheers

My goodness..... how wonderful you have had such a smooth recovery. As you say, touch wood it continues.

To have had no pain and be able to sleep on your stomach so soon is something close to astounding by my measure. Four years after my first OHS, I could not sleep on my stomach. Here's hoping when I'm fully healed this time, I might be pain free. What a gift that would be.

Congratulations on a great recovery.

You know, when I saw my chest x-ray after my surgery this time I think I know why I haven't had ANY problems with any kind of pain. My wires are perfect and there are at least twice as many as I had last time. It looks like a robot did them, that is how perfect they are. Before they seemed haphazardly placed and at weird angles. I remember being able to feel my sternum move after my first OHS, this time nothing at all. That's my story and I'm sticking too it!

YAAAAAAY! your success is very encouraging to me,as i'm facing probable surgery! trish

Hi Kim:) Im so glad to hear you are doing good.
I remember you had tricuspid problems like me. Im 3 months now and doing
fairly well . I will say that the key is mild exercise in the begining.I am also
pleased to hear that the coumadin is no problem . Coumadin just doesnt like
me at all, but my problem is by no means common.
The Best For You,

Kim, glad you are doing so well, congratulations on 1 month, hope everything continues to run smooth.
