And now for some good news of my own . . . our daughter just found out this week that they will have a baby! They have tried for several years, and were resigned to thinking it would never happen. It has been a great week for surprises!

Hugs and kisses,
Mary

An update...

Had my third bleed today!! This is just so scary!

I saw my doctor who thinks its still some blood from the pool of it they found on my scan but scary all the same.

He didn't refer me again for scanning or listen for heartbeat as he thought it might still be too early to hear it which would frighten me even more if he couldn't get it.

So its wait and see again and keeping fingers crossed its only this blood that my body is getting rid of.

Trying very hard to do positive thinking now!!

Oh, Emma!
I was wondering last night how you were feeling. I hope and pray that your body is just ridding itself of the excess pool of blood. I know that this is stressful, but try to stay calm and serene. I will be frantic and frazzled for you.
Please keep us updated!
Love,
Mary

So sorry Emma, sending prayers and best wishes. Hoping everything will be ok. When is your next scan?. It is so hard but try to stay calm and relaxed, will be thinking of you and the family.

My sister-in-law lost a baby just before I got pregnant with my first, so I was quite aware of the possibility. I know it is much worse when it is you.

I spotted with my first pregnancy for a few days, and then a little heavier and longer with my second pregnancy. It was very worrisome, even after my doctor told me that it is pretty normal at the end of the first trimester when the placenta detaches from the uterine wall. Since the baby and I were high risk with my second, I had ultrasounds at every visit, vaginal in the beginning and then on the belly starting around 12-13 weeks. It was reassuring to see him so often and know that he was developing properly. With my first, I only had one ultrasound around 16 weeks, so looked forward to hearing that heartbeat each visit. Of course, she was also my gymnast, so the constant flipping reassured me that she was still there.

I'm glad the Internet didn't really exist when I was pregnant. I probably would have found out way more than I really wanted to know. As it was, my copy of "What to Expect When You're Expecting" was well worn.

I'm keeping you in my thoughts.

Hi again all,
I saw the midwife today who listened in for the heartbeat to reassure me and she found it near enough straight away - the loveliest sound ever!!

Also been feeling the little early fluttery butterfly feeling from baby the past couple of days and stronger today too so thats nice as well.

Thankyou so much for all the support and messages

Love Emma - who still has everything crossed!

That's wonderful news, Emma- I'm sure it was the sweetest sound ever heard!

Oh, I'm so glad you got that reassurance. Keeping everything crossed right along with you.

I've had friends who have gotten their own heart beat monitor just so they can be reassured that everything is going okay... I can completely understand your worries and I'm SO glad everything is okay!
