Just got back from my 2nd 5k and did great with no problems, I'm 14 weeks post-op now. This one was harder, it was through one of our beautiful winery's and it was all dirt, sand, hills, and uneven ground, lots of fun anyway! I can't tell you how great it is to feel alittle stronger and healther everyday, I am so happy I'm getting my body and life back again! Thanks everyone Debbie :) P.S. My daughter won second in her age group with a time of 26 min. I know that's alittle slow for you runners but this was a hard course. :)

Dear Aaron, I had pulmonary valve replacement with a bovine pericardial tissue valve. I had a full sternotomy and have 9 inch scar. I had surgery as a baby and had that valve repaired. Debbie :)

Congratulations Debbie, another good 5K!:) You said it, 'getting our bodies and our lives back', an indescribable feeling!:D

Congrats!!

Congrats!!

Congratulations Debbie!! We were thinking about you during our race yesterday! Sounds like yours was challenging physically. Ours was a very mental thing. But the weather was PERFECT! In the high 50's at the start and then in the low 60's at the finish. I'm just a tad bit sore today, but not bad at all.

So glad to hear you're progressing. Your strength will return slowly but surely! I still can't believe I was able to do it and feel as good as I do today. I think I even feel better than I did the day after my first 1/2 marathon!

I've posted our pics!
