Hello family and friends at valvereplacement.com!

I guess the reason I'm posting is I want to whine for just a little bit...please forgive me but my husband is tired of hearing me! LOL!

I was feeling so much better after arotic valve replacement Jan. 23rd. I finally got to see my twin grandchildren! I started rehab and I got a new job. (My previous employer couldn't keep me because I cost him to much...hohum!) Things hadn't been as easy as I had anticipated but now I was moving in a positive direction. I started my new job on April 7th. My surgeon still hasn't released me to drive so my poor sidekick husband has been chauffering me around. Things went well on my first day of work. I was a little tired but not wasted. Then Tuesday morning I got up sick. Went to work anyway...by the time I got off I had spiked a fever of 103. Husband again took me to the ER and I have pneumonia. I was put in the hospital from Tuesday evening until Friday evening. I actually hadn't even been coughing. then Saturday morning I started coughing up junk...sorry so graphic. Well hubby took me to my GP this morning and I still have pneumonia. I have coughed so much that my breastbone feels like I had surgery all over again! I even had to start on Hydrocodone again! So here I sit with a heating pad on my chest, jobless (I got fired after only working two days. My husband said I would do anything not to go back to work...LOL!) and feeling lower than a snake's belly! I know there are a bunch of people out there that can make me smile and laugh with their zany wit...PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE!!

Will it ever end????

Damn Woman .... Get a job already!!!! Whats it been 20 minutes???

Your job is you darlin... and you should be working for that paycheck harder than you have worked for any!!! You are the most important thing, if you dont take care of you, who is going to take care of those grand kids properly !!!??? Relax a little, ive noticed that there are other jobs out there and maybe the right one is a month away, maybe two??

GET WELL !!!! FIRST THINGS FIRST!!!!!! then we'll talk about the money.... damn

Sounds like good advice to me... Im 9 weeks postop and still not working,
I dont plan on it for about another month.
Thats what a spouse is FOR , you know -'in sickness and in health'
Best wishes....

DesignLady .... I hope that we get to talk very soon and very silly about your great health. Dont rush what you cant control. Just SLIDE!!!!! Everything always works out. Seriously, EVERYTHING!!! You have grand kids, you know that buy now!! Be calm and smile through it, make em wonder what the hell that grin is all about!!

Sending hugs and best wishes your way. Hope you get better very soon.

Sorry you are having it so tough.....pnumonia is a bitch, I had it once and thought I was over it after a week or so, went back to work and three days later was down and out for 3 weeks.....TAKE CARE OF YOU:) .....and this is good for hubby:rolleyes: believe me he will appreciate you in a different light when you are back to 100%, and you WILL get back to 100%....it takes time and some have more speed bumps than others......

I don't have any great answers for the job situation except to say that things usually have a way of working out for the best.
In regards to the pneumonia, I've had it several times, and you need to make getting well your first priority. Don't overdo!
Take care and let us know how you're recovering.

I'll repeat something someone else said "things happen for a reason". There is a great job waiting for you when you're well enough.

I'm so sorry you're sick but for heavens sake let your husband help. I had surgery the day before you and my husband still does a lot. I am retired but if I wasn't I would not be ready to return to work.

This too will past. You've had a lot of bumps but it will get better.

Earline

I forgot to mention.....did the job fire you just because you got pneumonia after 2 days? If so, they're probably not the right employer in the long run as they obviously have no compassion what so ever. It's not like you did it on purpose. I'm sure a better opportunity will come along, but get yourself better first.

DLady, don't even think twice about that crappy job that you lost!!

Yes, I'm talking phone sex. Hmmm, maybe you better wait until you are done coughing and hacking.

Yeah, that would be kind of a "put off" --- hacking & coughing! Bina, you are hysterical!!! :) :)

Design Lady,
Everything happens for a good reason --- count your lucky stars that you don't work for that employer anymore! Perhaps something greater is in your destiny! Take care of yourself!:)

Hi Neighbor!

I am so sorry that you have had such a tough time with this whole recovery process. Stay focused because being healthy and staying healthy is going to happen.......hopefully SOON!

Please know that my husband and I care about you and your family. You can do this!

What a GREAT IDEA!!

What a GREAT IDEA!!

Wow Bina!

Suddenly the world is full of unforeseen opportunities! I'm not even sure that phone sex is taxable income! I love the suggestion! I may have to take a few classes on technique but I do believe this will be quite a moneymaking venture!

I KNEW YOU ALL COULD MAKE ME LAUGH! Thanks! Now I'm off to scope out my new career!

Hugs from the heart!

You seemed to have gotten that first job fast, so no doubt you will get another one when you are ready. "When you are ready" is the operative term.;) Please don't overextend yourself again. Pneumonia is not just the sniffles!

Do you design for your job? If so, the right job will come your way. Hold the new job off until you can drive! And are otherwise recovered enough to take on work. (you went to work before the DR said you could DRIVE? tsk, tsk)

Weellllll...you can always do medical billing from your home or even from the hospital. Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants. It might even give you some insight into the probable maze of your own bill; a translation of sorts.

I agree with the rest: if your Employer fired you because you got sick, then there is definitely something better out there for you! Remember: health first. When you feel your "good, old self" again, then attempt the job-hunting.

I am 2 1/2 weeks post op after OHS and my current Employer is under the impression that I'll be returning soon... they gave me "unpaid leave" and ever since I got sick in 2007 they wanted to terminate my contract. So now it is my turn to terminate them!

I am going to get better first. Fully recover and have my energy back and then I am going job-hunting. Don't know date or week or time, but my body will be my guidance.

Be good to yourself and your family and get well first, before you worry about a new job.;)
