hey guys,

I havent been avoiding this thread, just havent felt well enough to be up and posting this week, still not feeling up to it, but I'll give it a try before I go to bed.

my screen name comes from my tattoo, which is a celtic symbol, its a triquetra that incorporates a heart. the triquetra stands for wholeness (body mind and spirit) and incorporating a heart symbolizes that my heart issues have made me a stronger person (the more loops in a knot the stronger it is)

the 8891 comes from the years of my surgeries, first one was in 1988, second in 1991

gonna go crash now
cool thread tho

I am a song writer and musician. I like poetic type songs and would rather sing a song in spontaneous fashion rather than follow one that was written as I feel it comes off less genuine . . . so my songs are more in the fashion of a psalm (i sing at church). :p I have been told I look like the native american character on Joe Dirt who sells fireworks (i am a registered chickasaw native) and he is called Kick'n wing so I am referred to as kick'n wing sometimes. I was nicked named accident in highschool by my highschool coach who said I was an accident being born. It stuck and I had fun with it. Love the thread!:D

Boring - my first name. I suppose I could have been a little creative and used the phonetic spelling "car' lin". Or because that's how my husband (who's really really bad at names) remembered my name when we met. I told him to think of George Carlin.

My name comes from a nick name at primary (elementary?) school.
I hadn't used it for 30 years since primary school until I joined VR.

Always thought you were into 4wd ing as oldmanemu is a brand of shock/spring for lifting 4wd vehicles...

I went the boring route and went with the first letter of my first name...Mike and then the last name. I thought about using M&M since those are my initials but I thought it would be to short since some sites require a certain length and exclude certain characters. Maybe I will change it now since this thread was brought up. It would go with my tattoo which my cardio's assistants and my surgeon's assistants introduce themselves like we just met...then I take my shirt off and they realized...hey, I remember you. :)

Isis

Isis

Mine came from the first thing that popped into my head. It's the title of a Bob Dylan song. Here it is if your interested.
He does write long songs.

I married Isis on the fifth day of May,
But I could not hold on to her very long.
So I cut off my hair and I rode straight away
For the wild unknown country where I could not go wrong.

I came to a high place of darkness and light.
The dividing line ran through the center of town.
I hitched up my pony to a post on the right,
Went in to a laundry to wash my clothes down.

A man in the corner approached me for a match.
I knew right away he was not ordinary.
He said, "Are you lookin' for somethin' easy to catch?"
I said, "I got no money." He said, "That ain't necessary."

We set out that night for the cold in the North.
I gave him my blanket, he gave me his word.
I said, "Where are we goin'?" He said we'd be back by the fourth.
I said, "That's the best news that I've ever heard."

I was thinkin' about turquoise, I was thinkin' about gold,
I was thinkin' about diamonds and the world's biggest necklace.
As we rode through the canyons, through the devilish cold,
I was thinkin' about Isis, how she thought I was so reckless.

How she told me that one day we would meet up again,
And things would be different the next time we wed,
If I only could hang on and just be her friend.
I still can't remember all the best things she said.

We came to the pyramids all embedded in ice.
He said, "There's a body I'm tryin' to find.
If I carry it out it'll bring a good price."
'Twas then that I knew what he had on his mind.

The wind it was howlin' and the snow was outrageous.
We chopped through the night and we chopped through the dawn.
When he died I was hopin' that it wasn't contagious,
But I made up my mind that I had to go on.

I broke into the tomb, but the casket was empty.
There was no jewels, no nothin', I felt I'd been had.
When I saw that my partner was just bein' friendly,
When I took up his offer I must-a been mad.

I picked up his body and I dragged him inside,
Threw him down in the hole and I put back the cover.
I said a quick prayer and I felt satisfied.
Then I rode back to find Isis just to tell her I love her.

She was there in the meadow where the creek used to rise.
Blinded by sleep and in need of a bed,
I came in from the East with the sun in my eyes.
I cursed her one time then I rode on ahead.

She said, "Where ya been?" I said, "No place special."
She said, "You look different." I said, "Well, not quite."
She said, "You been gone." I said, "That's only natural."
She said, "You gonna stay?" I said, "Yeah, I jes might."

Isis, oh, Isis, you mystical child.
What drives me to you is what drives me insane.
I still can remember the way that you smiled
On the fifth day of May in the drizzlin' rain.

I have to join up with the "Boring Club" on this one ... Actually, I was in a bit of a panic when I found this site and registered. We had just gotten back from Andrew's annual card appt and had learned that his "benign condition" had deteriorated & taken a big (and very unexpected!!) downhill turn over the course of a year's time. I was in frantic-mom mode and didn't put an ounce of creative thinking into it.
Fun thread, Ross!

My horse is named Alpha so I just added a 1 to it. Also Wayne what you said made me laugh, which I don't do very often anymore, so I don't think you are boring at all, funny though.
