but it was the dratted ice under the dratted snow that did me in - I have osteoporosis so bad (and I quote my family doctor) "if you fall, you will break" (that was almost 3 years ago, hopefully I have managed to increase it since then).

To get exercise, I am going to start getting off the bus a few stops after I usually do and walk from there. My store is halfway up a hill, so I am going to start with the slightly downhill walk, before getting a few stops early and doing the uphill! Needless to say, I got off the bus at my usual spot today .

Took my son to pain management this morning and the lot was solid ice. Thought sure I was doomed. Made it without killing myself.

I use Yak Traks over the bottoms of my shoes. It was a sheet of ice this morning, but walking was fine with the Yak Traks.

I also went to Zappos and bought some Skechers sneakers made for waitresses. They have a non-slip bottom, and they work on ice as well. They have been wonderful.

Walmarts has a similar product called (I think) Safe Treds, but they are not as good as the Skechers. They do slip slightly.

You might want to invest in a pair of those sneakers. I am sure they have waiter ones for you too Ross.

We talked about the Yak Traks a few years ago and sister bought me a pair..However..I know you have to go out more than me. I am still so afraid of my icy wooden steps....so what I do is stand away from steps and let Kallie go down on long-leash to wheez..:p .there are many things down there he can wheez on....bushes, birdbath/ect..and then I take him out later to poop after. the sun has come up to thaw out sidewalk..B/T/W..How is Harriett?...Stilll miss my shitzu..Ti...after 7 years..:( Bonnie
