I hope everyone has had a great week of healthy living!! We are staying the course. I want to thank all of you for the inspiration and encouragement that you have given me and each other; I could not have come this far without each one of you!! I wish everyone success on tomorrow's weigh in!!!!

This has been a tough week for SUPERBOB, who doesn't expect any progress. He may weigh in on Saturday morning instead of Friday. He won't weasel out, but tomorrow's schedule is rather chaotic.

I guess with the timezones i'm likely to be the first to post most weeks

Well, its a 0 change week for me, i still weigh 264 which is about 7 pounds down from the starting weight. But its a good 264 and not a 'just' 264 like it probably was last week (you know what i'm talking about  )

I still think my sales are whack....they are ok for lower weights but the higher weights it just gives out a gasp and throws back a random number so you will get the hell off it quickly :p

I haven't managed to get a new pair yet as the wife says if i did some exercise worth mentioning the changes would be big enough to register  ...harsh but fair and probably needed to be said.

I only played soccer with my son twice for about an hour and a half total this week. It broke a sweat but only just.

Anyway, the weight may not have changed but i certainly feel like i'm changing....my eating is under control and way down, i'm eating healthy fruit, veg etc..i haven't had any crisps, biscuits, chocolate, soda drinks and hardly any alcohol...one bottle of light beer is all thats passed my lips. I feel better inside and better in the head...the moments of self loathing with 'why did you eat that you fat *&*(#" conversations in my own head have gone and a small light of positivity has begun to shine on me.:D

Lets see if i can ignore the bad back and sore calves and drag my lazy butt out of bed in the morning and start going for bike rides and walks and do some exercise worth mentioning to assist my new found resolve for my new eating regime.

Good luck to everyone else as the numbers come in, hope you all manage a drop or at least a zero change. If its an increase just remember that if you wern't at least trying that increase could be bigger.

Regards from Australia.

I don't anticipate liking the scales at all tomorrow. :( Not only have I been trying to fight off the 5 pounds of "water weight" from last weekend, but I'm also battling lazy eating (ie: fast food), and no exercise (it's cold and I'm tired)... :( I know, lousy excuses. My husband wants me to see about having my thyroid checked. He says I've been way more tired lately than usual. I mentioned it to my cardiologist and she said it was a good idea, and could be contributing to my holding onto the water weight too. I need to try and get her to order a blood test for the beginning of next week so I can either confirm or deny any medical reason for my laziness. I'll weigh in tomorrow, but it won't be pretty!

Niki ... not a bad idea to get it checked ... also, are you getting enough protein??? I get sluggish if I don't get the protein.

Yep, she's a diamond....the only woman on the planet who would put up with me.....

Yep, i'm not expecting to lose every week, my body must be confused at the moment with the lack of junk food going into it so i'ts decided to hang onto everything it can get its hands on...

A little wife motivated exercise will shock it into weight loss action.

Not a bad week. I'm down a half pound from last Friday and almost back to pre-Xmas weight. I'm not getting in as much running with the cold weather but at least do a coupl miles each day on a treadmill. Crashingly boring, but I have my MP3 player chock full of upbeat oldies, so the time passes quickly.

I had a better week this week. Weight Watchers is suiting me. It is much better that starving myself:) :)

Starting weight........233
Last Week...................212
This week....................208
Weekly Change............-4:D
Total Loss......................25

I knew I wouldn't like it. 134. Up 4 pounds from last week. I don't know how much is "real" weight and how much is water weight, but either way I'm not happy. I've GOT to find a way to exercise. I can't keep going like this. :(

Niki ... I know how you feel:eek: Last week was a gain for me. I have found when it goes on really fast it comes off "almost" as fast. I know that women have a much harder time with water weight ... Sherry (my wife) is going to WW meetings and did not lose any this week after being perfect on her plan, her ankles are a bit swollen so we know it is water. I have found for me that getting older also brings the water weight more into play.

It will come back off:D :D :D Promise:)

Good morning, everyone! This is only my second week of reporting my progress, so I'm still pretty motivated. Two weeks ago I started at 182.5 and this morning I am down to 174, so that's a total of 8.5 pounds lost. Now I must confess that last week I swapped scales with my daughter.....she had absconded with our nice digital scale when she left for college. When I mentioned to her that I preferred the scale she had taken to the one I bought to replace it, she readily agreed to swap with me. When I started weighing on the old/new scale, the numbers were a little lower than the scale I started with.....heck, I'll take it any way I can!!!

I've been really good about the eating, and have found that counting calories religiously is what works for me. Eating out is not much of an issue for me because we live out in the boondocks, so that eating out opportunities are few and far between!

I've been satisfying my desire to bake goodies, by baking them for the carpentry crew that is working on remodelling our old farmhouse. They are very appreciative, and I don't eat them!!!!

I have a question for everyone regarding vitamin supplements. I'm wondering about whether I should be taking a multivitamin, but I'm concerned about the Vitamin K in them. Truthfully, I'm eating more healthily than I was before I started the throwdown, so perhaps I don't need the multivitamin, but I'm interested in hearing what you all have to say about them.

Thanks to everyone for the support. I read the posts daily, and it is keeping me motivated and on track....it's like having Weight Watchers without paying the fees for it!!!!

Good luck to everyone in the week to come!

Susan

Accuracy and consistency are very important. You need to know that what you see is the truth whether up or down.

When I started going to WW last April I was seeing big discrepancies between my home scale the one at WW. I went out and bought a new one and found the old scale was 3.5 lbs high.

No change for me. Not a great week, but I lost 3 the week before, so I guess I could claim to be consolidating my losses.

Ditto....basically. Last week's loss is spreading itself thin.

Great job Susan!!!! I?ll give you $100 for those scales.:) About the multivitamins, I take one every day and it has K in it. The key/trick is being consistent. I am also eating healthier than ever before but I still take a multi and 1000mg of C everyday. I am as stable as they come, INR wise. There are days when I don?t eat that well and I like the idea of haven taken the supplement. I asked my doctor if they really help and he said, ?if it helps psychologically it is still helping and that it won?t hurt me.?

Oh, and you can send those scales postage due.:D

I am up 2 lbs from last week but I am going to hold tight until next week's weigh-in. My jeans feel a little more comfortable so maybe my results just haven't caught up with my scale (how's that for being delusional? :D). Since I am a lifetime WW member I think in terms of points on everything. I started having the zero point soup from progresso several days a week and feel like it's helping.

I'm trying to do what Cooker was talking about a while back and not do mindless snacking - the old hand-to-mouth with chips and whatever else I can get my hands on. This is the hardest thing for me because when I walk in the door at the end of the day the 1st thing I want to do is grab a bag of chips and sit down in front of the tv.

Cooker great job! SB - you're still as sexy as you were last week. Niki- I share your pain, which is why I've decided just to concentrate on exercise and sensible eating (trying to eliminate the carbs as much as possible), but you already have had more success than I did. Keep you chin up.

Sue - if you get a multi with K in it, make sure you are testing your INR every 4 days or so and then take it every day. I would recommend getting one without K in it - they are out there.

I am down a pound, thought it would be more, but I will take it.:D

Congratulations Cooker, Sue, and Jack on your losses. Good job SB, Wise, and MagicBall. You are probably "consolidating" your losses from last week. It's tough to hold on to big losses, but you've done it.

Mary and Niki, stay the course! I know you will have weight losses to report next Friday.:)

Hi All

EVELYN checking in here. Have been reading about Cooker's throwdown for a few months now, and have "thrown" my weight into the hat.

Joined WWatchers and would like to report I'm 2.4 down from last week. So, that's a really good thing. I'm just trying to exercise (walking the dogs 2 miles a walk, 4 days a week) and especially trying to EAT HEALTHY. One day a week I splurge, but not crazily, and then try to get back on track the next morning.

Today was ww yogurt, banana, and one thing I especially love ....FIBER ONE BARS. They're 2 points, full of fiber, and absolutely delicious. The chocolate and oats definitely satisfy the "c h o c o l a t e gremlin" and I really feel full after for a loong time. They also make a peanut/oats combo, but if given the choice between chocolate and pb, well chocolate wins hands down.

Anyway, if you all want to give them a try, I highly recommend them.

I'm glad I'm joining this second support group.....I'm in it for better or worse.

EVELYN
