Well I had a miracle happen to me today. Went to the cardiologists expecting them to set a heart surgery date, because they had already told me I would probably have to have the surgery. Well TEE tests show that I only have a mild leak of the mitral valve as expected after heart valve repair not anything like they said at first, THANK YOU GOD! I still have to wear a heart monitor to see why I'm having slow heart beat at times and fast heart beats sometimes, but they seem to think it may be my lungs now.

As you all know I told you they said my lungs were shrinking, well cardiologist said that a test showed -- I think it was my CT scan, showed that I have pulmonary edema and I would have to be seen by the lung doctor. I've been having this problem with my lungs for 12 years and now they are just now seeing some proof that I'm having the problems that I've been telling them I've been having, when before they gave me everything from zantac to allergy medicine which didn't help a bit. So thank you for all your prayers and please continue to pray for me that my valve repair will hold up and they will finally find out what's going on with my lungs. I will keep everyone updated. Thanks for all your prayers!!

rachel_howell: Yes, I guess you can say that but I will have to wait and see what happens with my lungs. I'm not going to claim anything bad, but I have been struggling for years with this problem so going to pray, pray, pray for it to come out fine. :)

You have my prayers. It is so frustrating to know that something is wrong and they can't figure out what is it. Hopefully, a lung specialist will be able to figure out the problem and also resolve. Good luck.

Thanks Praline. I know it is, and I've been struggling so long with this problem. I'm still confused about the because I know your lungs can still cause you to have serious heart problems so just kind of waiting again to see what is really going on here. I guess the heart monitor will rule out if I'm having some other king of heart problems. Thanks again for your prayers.

Being told you don't have to have another valve surgery yet is a very good thing!!! I wish you the best in getting the other issue figured out.

Blake let me know what the pulmonologist says. I've been battleing Pulmonary Hemosiderosis since 1991. Kind of anxious to see what they tell you.

Ross I will be sure to let you know what they tell me. I'm not looking forward to the aterial sticks, but I know it comes with the territory, been there done that and I'm sure you have to and probably everyone here.

My wrists look like small nails have been driven through them many times.

I'm not worthy.

That's exactly what it feels like when they do the artery stick, or what you think a nail going through the wrist would feel like. I do hate those things!!!

Hi Blake,

Great news! We will keep the prayers coming. Keep us posted on your progress.

God Bless

Sorry about your lung problem but great news about the heart, best wishes, take care.

Blake,
Until I read the second part, I thought "wow, what I've hoped for years, a more sophisticated test shows that my heart is ok". Good news there for you, but I'm sorry you've had the frustration of not having your pulmonary problems recognized for so long.
I hope you will soon be getting treatment and recovery.

Thanks everyone for you kind words. I woke up this morning felt like my chest came apart, forgot to ask the doctor to do x-ray from where I thought I felt something pop loose after that thoracic surgeon pushed on it so hard. I swear I'm not going in to see what it is, my husband keeps saying go get x-rays, but I'm so scared they might still have to go in and do surgery again anyway that I just can't bring myself to go get x-rays. I know what you're going to say, "Go" and I'll eventually go, but not today, I'm still celebrating.
