Staying home. Daughter and granddaughter will be coming over. Will be picking up prepared turkey dinner with all the fixins tomorrow at a very nice local grocery store that does those meals well. Supposed to rain here, too, but that will be something additional to give thanks for, as dry as it's been this year. If the rain lets up, Sadie and I will taker a long walk to work off those calories.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

We will be eating lurch at my sister in law's and then to a evening drop in. Friday we will load up with my friend David's wife and kids ( he is the one who passed away last month) and head to Gatlinburg TN area for a four day getaway. We have rented a big cabin and are hoping the kids get to see some snow. David and Debbie were married the Saturday after Thanksgiving so I'm sure there will be tears. We were in their wedding and I think she planned this to help bring closer with the support of loving friends. Keep us in your prayers if you think about it.....................Tom

Hitting The Road At 7am Thanksgiving Day.....

Hitting The Road At 7am Thanksgiving Day.....

My brother and I are traveling 4 hours from here in NH to central Maine (Bangor Area) to have Turkey Dinner with my parents...Hopefully the weather will hold out as we have already had our first snow of the season...today...YIKES:eek: :D

Hopefully, the traffic will not be too bad at that point in the day as well. Ole' Harrybaby is wishing yall a very Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!:D :D :D :D

We will have Thanksgiving dinner at my sister-inlaw's house (20 minutes away). We use to have Thanksgiving and Christmas at our house. However, when the twins where born 8 years ago, that was just too much for my wife.

On Friday night, all four of our kids when spend the night (now a tradition) at my sister-inlaw's, YIPEEEE!!:D :D :D

On Saturday night, we will have leftovers at my sister-inlaw's. From there we will go downtown to view the lightboat parade on the St. John's River. The city then puts on an absolutely spectacular fireworks show immediately after the parade. We have been doing all of this for the past ten years.

We are eating at my brother's house in Liberty, Mo. Friday my entire family is traveling to Taylorville, Illinois. We are putting my stepfather's beloved tractor in a national auction on Saturday. He passed away in Feb, and had restored 2 antique tractors from junk to award winners...we hate to see it go, but my mom does not want it to deteriorate and for it to go to someone who will love it. Unfortunately she also needs the money:( As you all know heart drugs are expensive....I would sure appreciate prayers for a safe trip...thanks so much...Deb ps Happy Thanksgiving!:)

I have been of from school all week and really missing John.
I did not feel like spending Thanksgiving by myself. A couple of the teachers at school invited me to their house but since I don't really know their family and ..I guess I am just not in the mood.... I decided to volunteer my help at a local Community Center. I will go there for 11:00 AM Thanksgiving day and help serve dinner to whoever comes to eat. There are a lot of needy people here. So I'll make myself useful.

I've thought of your recently Praline. This is understandably a difficult time for you. It sounds like you've got a good plan. I mostly wanted to say that you're in our thoughts and we'll be praying for you.

Also, Cooker, you and your friend's family will be in our prayers.

AND, Nancy, dear lady, the same goes for you. You're in our thoughts along with the memories you've given us of your husband Joe.

I hope this was OK. This has been on my mind and I beginning to believe we should speak the things that "linger" in our thoughts.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I have always enjoyed cooking the turkey at my house & I guess this year will be the same.

I've had a bad cold since last Thursday & finally went to the doctor this afternoon for antibiotics so I just took out the turkey & put it in the frig to start thawing out. We've also been invited over to my brother's house & also my brother-in-law's for Thanksgiving dinner but I just love the leftovers, so I'm cooking.

Weather says we're suppose to be getting rain mixed w/snow late Thursday, early Friday. That will be the first freeze for this part of the state.

Happy Thanksgiving to all & be safe!:)

Everyone (45 in all) are coming here. We live in the home stead so everybody likes to come home for Thanksgiving. Everyone brings a couple of their special dishes so it sure helps. We always have more than we could possibly eat. The getting ready is kinda of tough. I washed windows earlier this week, cleaning house really good tomorrow and starting my cooking. On top of that I came down with a really bad cold, almost went into pneumonia. Since I have leukemia my immune system just doesn't work too well. The doctor put me on some really strong antibotics and I'm so much better today. Thank goodness.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and I pray that everyone that is traveling will have a safe trip. Also prayers going up for those that have lost loved ones this year. It's always so hard during the holiday season.

Noon Ferry

Noon Ferry

Thursday morning I'll head for Wood's Hole, and catch the boat to Martha's Vineyard. One of my brothers and his wife live out there, and they took in my mother. Talk about things to be grateful for! We'll have dinner with my sister in-law, her son, daughter, and grandchildren, the bird, the cat, and the three dogs! Brian PS: Wise, Thanks for speaking my mind!

We are going to the North Pole!

Sort of...

After lunch with some family we are heading to North Carolina to take the Great Smokey Mountain RailRoad's Polar Express Dinner train. It is a fun experience for the kids and this year we are surprising them with it. They know we are going away for a couple of days but have no idea what it is for. I can't wait to see their faces when we get there.

We have our appointment with the surgeon today at 1 pm, so I suppose we'll be digesting that :D along with our Whole Foods Thanksgiving for two meal.

Safe travels and happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Hi all

We're home and I'm cooking. Got our turkey and "stuff" this week. We could have gone up north, but are heading up there mid December. Just as happy to be here when the rain comes. It's absolutely beautiful and we'll be wearing shorts in November....how cool.

Have a great Thanksgiving, everyone.

We're headed to my sister's lodge/restaurant in Southern Illinois later today. Bob and I grew up there, and come holiday time, it just feels right for that to be our destination. Three of our children will join us, so we are blessed to have them near.
As for the others, our newlywed son will remain in central Missouri and celebrate Thanksgiving with his wife's family.
Our oldest son will celebrate Thanksgiving in Taliil, Iraq, so I hope he gets a tasty Thanksgiving meal and stays safe.
Bob's family will be facing their first holiday without their dad, so this will be difficult for them.
It sounds as though many will be traveling, so stay safe and enjoy the holiday! Special blessings to those who are missing a loved one at their table this Thanksgiving.

It is supposed to be 83º today. I do not envy you poor souls up north worrying about snow. Our son is arriving later today from Syracuse, and we will visit my mother (our son?s grandmother) for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Have a great day everybody!!

I'm hosting it this year with all the family. Being as I can't lift the 22 pound turkey I'll need the help! My sister is spending the night tonight and we will get a had start. I don't feel well but I'm so looking forward to some normalcy!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
