I havn't been around for a while, went thru cataract surgery and a few other issues as well.
Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing.
Hopefully all are OK.

Bina,
It was pretty amazing.
I went from VERY bad to 20/20 in both eyes, each surgery took about ten minutes.
I am sorry I waited so long to do this.

Hi Rich, it's good to hear from you. I'm glad your eye surgery went well and hope everything else in your life is as well. My eldest son had it several years ago and it didn't go as smooth as yours. He had to have further work done after he healed and then later again to fine tune it. He had had an eye injury playing racquetball as a teen and had some difficult issues with that. Even given all that, he is still so very happy he had it done.
On a somber note...you did hear that we just lost Chris Crawford to cancer?

Cort,
Thanks for the good wishes, everything seems to be going quite well.
I go back in a few weeks for what should be my final check-up.
And by the way I see it was your birthday recently, so please accept my belated happy birthday.

Betty,
I did not hear about Chris, that's awful.
At my age now it seems someone is passing on every other day.
I hope your son is doing OK these days.
I sure do realize how lucky I was so far.
Although this surgery is very common, there is always a risk, and we only have one set of eyes.
Who knows maybe someday they will invent a mechanical eye.

Hey Rich. Congratulations on your new eyesight. I had mine done a few years ago within a month of each other. It was like someone turned on lights - Last year I was dimmed again and went to my dr. He told me a film can develop over the eye after cataract surgery. I think this may happen to lots and they don't realize. Anyhow, there is another surgical procedure to fix that, too. It happens in an eye surgery center - in a chair and takes only moments to get it fixed and all is well again. Be sure to remember this if your sight dims in a few years. I can actually see better than my children can,.

good to see you back again.

Thanks Wayne.

Ann,
I am aware of what you said.
A friend of mine had to have his cleared up.
The good news was they used a laser and it only took a few seconds.
The bad news he said was they charged $500 per eye.

that's the one - the laser and it was quickly over. They told me I could drive myself there and home but I didn't do it that way since it was in a whole other town. Got a ride over and back for both eye appointments but the laser did the trick. I don't know what happens should it recur - or if it will ever happen again.
