Day,

I would like to wish you the very best as you undergo your graft and replacement Monday. You will be in my thoughts and prayers until we get an update that the surgery went well and you are on the road to recovery.
God Bless and Godspeed

Best wishes for a successful surgery and smooth, uneventful, recovery. I look forward to your update from the other side. Perhaps you can get somebody to post for you to let us know how you are doing.

I know you will do fine and look forward to hearing about your uneventful recovery soon. Godspeed!

Thanks for the good wishes

Thanks for the good wishes

I'm counting down to September 10th.

Had pre-admission test and CT scans.

Once in a while I get cold feet.

When I noticed that CT scan shows my ascending aorta is 35mm which is in the normal range vs echo reading of 40mm which is above the range. I wonder if I'm going for surgery too soon.

As you know from my earlier thread that I don't have any symptoms and my reading are above normal but not in acute range.

The reason I decided to go for surgery is that my LV is beginning to dilate.

LV: Chamber size - End systolic dimension 44 mm
End diastolic dimension 63 mm

Also my EF is at 50% from echo and 52% from CT scan.

I know BAVD results in Aortic Aneurysm is many cases so now I am wondering if my surgeon will do the graft or not given it is not dilated beyond normal limits. If is he does not, then do I need to worry about the dilation later and possible surgery

I will definitely post my progress on the other side.

I'm sure he will do whatever is best to prevent future surgeries. Looking forward to hearing that you sailed through surgery and are having an uneventful recovery.

Wishing you a text-book surgery and a smooth recovery.

I look forward to the good news.

Best of luck Monday and a quick recovery, I'm sure everything will go well.
I go in for pre-testing on Monday and then on the table Tuesday morning. I'll keep you in my thoughts Monday.

I know your doctor will do the very best for you....

My doctor had to "wait and see" until he made some choices...
They know their stuff!!!

Good luck with your surgery. You will be on the way to recovery before you know it. (The gadget referred to below looks like the harness my brother was given by the hospital after his mitral valve surgery. Because he is such a big guy the teddybear didn't help much.)
