hey,
well, I havent been able to get to a computer, but I wanted to give an update....physical went well uh except for the 2 tries to get a vein with no luck (needed a chicken pox titer, we are gonna try again tomorrow, they have to check my TB test anyways) I got my pneumonia shot and I plan on getting a flu shot this year as soon as they come out.

I talked to him about the symptoms, and he said that they suggest hypotension, he isnt too concerned, and agrees with me that it doesnt need to be investigated, he said that especially since I didnt raise my BP on the treadmill test thats probably what it is. he suggested that I get a BP monitor and check things out when Im feelin crappy, I did go and get one and Im gonna work on it. I was feelin it in the grocery store last night when I was trying to pick up the monitor and my bp was something like 85/54....little low maybe? doh, thats why I was feeling like such a space cadet. he told me to try and stay really super hydrated, Im working on it.....

does anyone know if hypotension can be a result of mitral stenosis/aortic regurg? I would feel alot better if this was a known cause....dont know why, but whatever......
Im gonna let them know, just so I can run it by them tomorrow.......
thanks again

there is a hypotension that can cause you to black out or faint (there is a word in front of hypotension but I can't recall it just now, but somebody will come in with it). My brother had that for years and would be most anywhere, get dizzy and pass out. One day he fainted in a grocery store sitting on a bench where he sat down when he felt faint, woke to find his head on a man's shoulder - the man was scrambling to get away from him! Press your doctors on this. There is medicine. Also you can raise your own by adding salt to your diet. I told my bro to do this and then his neuro told him to.

It's caused by a sudden drop in your bp, like when you get up from a sitting position. Blood can't get to your brain as quick as it is needed.

I am not positive that hypotension can be related to mitral or aortic regurgetation, however, prior to my aortic vavle replacement, my blood pressure ran really low. It was ussually high 90's -105 or so, over 55-65. I believe it was still considered normal, but still very low. Now after surgery, My blood pressure is much more normal about 118/80.

I would drink lots of fluids like your doctor said, but also make note of when you have those symptoms, and what you were doing prior to feeling that way. Were you exercising, was it hot outside, etc.

If your blood pressure is that low 85/54, I could see how you would feel that crummy. Watch it closesly, and then share with your doctor, they might want you to to do a holter test.

Best Wishes,
Shannon
