Beta blocker ( metropolol ) and sexual side effect

Its been 45 days I been on Beta blocker and last 30 months I have been facing with lost of sexual desire.

I was taling to doc I was on metropolol and he changed my med to atenolol he says lets try this? Is there anything u guys can share about it?

Many blood pressure medications have this side effect, Atenolol included. However, different prescriptions have different effects on different people, so you may not have that side effect on Atenolol, although some others do.

You just have to keep searching for a medication that lowers your blood pressure without lowering your desire or capability. There's a point at which you must balance the chances of problems being created by a physical issue and damage to quality of life by the medication that controls it.

When i was on Metropolol i felt like crap, honestly 20 minutes after I would take my dose i would physically feel crappy, so I can see not having a sexual desire being a normal thing when on that med.

Im on Toporol XL now and things have been fine, things have always been fine before my surgery as well, as a matter a fact things may be a little more active now.
