I am an administrator and head moderator of a very large website, the main site has some 1,800,000 members, the forums a mere 15,000. I was just banning a person from the forums and hit the wrong button, I suceeded in banning more than 15,000 members including all the administrators and the website owner.

I have no idea as to whether the webmaster will be able to hack into the system to unban us all, or not.

I even managed to ban myself.

Last Christmas he gave me a gift certificate to buy myself a gift, I bought a diamond pendant. I doubt whether I will even get a card this year.

Don't be so hard on yourself. The people that develop these boards have thought about these things and there is almost always a work around. Just get the owner on it and it should be fixed up with a little time.

I am delighted to annouce that the owner of the website has a sense of humour and also is VERY clever. Despite me banning him too he has managed to re-open all the accounts. Only problem is that genuinely banned accounts are now open but hopefully as they will assume they are still banned they won't attempt to post.

Oh I've been laughing all day - the 'boss' is in California so was safely asleep when it happened. All the administrators and the site feedback have been flooded with 'Why am I banned?' messages, then when they were told they all seemed to think it the funniest thing they had heard all year!
