Has anyone else experienced talking in their sleep after surgery? Also,I twitch and kick my legs and flail my arms.I have already hit my wife in her chin and in the back of her head.I had a little restless leg syndrome prior to surgery but this is crazy.I can feel myself literally jumping off of the bed at night. My wife says I keep mentioning tape.I hate the removal of the tape worse than the pain in my chest and back so maybe that's the problem.

For a few months post op I had a bit of twitching when trying to fall asleep; apparently I did some talking too. Most of this has passed. It may be related to the nervous system being frazzled.

I've been talking in my sleep for quite a while now. Intelligible words and full sentences too. Flailing feet and arms...yeap. I've beat the old lady a few times pretty good now. I don't know why. It's as though I'm not fully asleep and just on the edge of it when it starts.

I've had a lot of twitching legs when first post surgery. Perhaps coincidentally it stopped at about 2 months out when I was cardioverted for AFib.

Do you take a multivitamin? Here's what NIH says "Physicians may suggest that certain individuals take supplements to correct deficiencies in iron, folate, and magnesium." at http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/restless_legs/restless_legs.htm .

Also, my twitching was made MUCH worse by Ativan, the sleeping pill. I only took it 2 nights and poured the rest down the potty I was so disturbed by its effects.

It could be time heals all these things too, I'm 3 months out now and it's all gone. Be patient, tell your wife to duck :p .

Best Regards,
Ruth
