Hi, all--
Just got a call from my mom. She is headed to the local hospital to have some tests run. Something appears to be wrong with her liver. She was having stomach issues last week and refused to go to the doctor. I have no idea what's going on, but I'm worried and would appreciate it if you could put in a good word for her in your prayers. My mom is my best friend, even though she's old ;) and I hope everything turns out OK. I'm going to see her as soon as my husband gets home from work at 5:30.

I'm thinking of all of you too, and sorry I haven't been posting much.

A side note...all the crappy stuff seems to happen in April.... :( As T.S. Eliot wrote, "April is the cruelest month..."

Sorry for your difficult spring. I wish your mom well. There's no such thing as old, when it's your mom. Maybe it's a gall bladder thing, which is not so menacing.

Best wishes,

She's in my prayers, Deb.
It's a hard thing for daughters when there's trouble with their mothers.

Sure thing, Deb. Even when my mom was old, senile, and illness had robbed her of any quality of life, I still looked for the softest socks, clothes that would keep her warm & comfortable and were in colors she loved. I still remembered the young mom that was trapped inside. I absolutely hated her being in pain....I know how you feel.

Debi,

Very sorry ... thoughts/prayers coming to you and your Mom....

Deb,

So sorry to hear about your mum, it is really hard to have a parent unwell - my mum had cancer a couple of years ago and I still remember my feelings of helplessness. Really hope the doctors can find the cause of her problems soon and that it is nothing too serious - let us know - Jeanne

Prayers going out Deb- hope all is better today with an easy resolution.

Am saying prayers for your Mom, Deb. My wife also was very worried about liver problems. Turned out to have non-malignant cysts, just something to be monitored, not a crisis. Just mention that to make point that sometimes these scares turn out to be not so bad. Certainly pray that will be true for your Mom, too.

More tests lined up...

More tests lined up...

I talked to my dad this evening, and Mom had a stent placed in to drain the bile (this is all secondhand information), but when she had a CAT Scan yesterday, the doctors found "something" in her pancreas. She has Type II Diabetes, so this might be nothing at all, I hope. My first thought is cancer, only because my biological father died of pancreatic cancer when I was nine.

I should know something tomorrow after her next round of tests...

Thanks for all your prayers. You all are my valve family! :D

Prayers still coming your mother's way. I hope the next round of tests prove it to be nothing!
