Hi all

Tyce's arm looks MUCH less swollen.....but he's definitely staying till tomorrow at Least.....his elbot is still very red and angry looking, but the rest of the arm, above and below, is almost back to normal. Today when I went there he had a second infectious disease specialist in who told him to eat yogurt twice a day for the next month to replace the flora in his stomach/intestinal tract that the iv antibiotics have done in. Thought that was interesting coming from a dr. He also started him on acidopholus tabs today.

He's boosted to 10mg warfarin and his inr is presently 1.9. I'm wondering what to expect when he gets off them and gets back home. Any ideas?

I think they're being too aggressive with the Coumadin dosing and it'll cause him to be too high, but that's better then where he is now, so lets ride it out.

Evelyn, so sorry to hear about Tyce's cellulitis. It is truly nasty stuff and nothing to fool around with. I'm hoping the antibiotics kick in fast and work wonders. Even after cellulitis clears up the underlying and surrounding skin can permamently stay a deeper red color and often have a shiney appearance as well. I hope Ross and Tyce soon have this behind them.
You forgot to mention the exfoliating! Just like a sunburn, you peal like a lizard.

Hi All

Thanks, Betty, that's very interesting about the deep red color. Tyce said this morning that the point of his elbow was still red.....wonder if that's the reason. Just waiting for the dr. to come in to see if he's out of there. The second infectious disease specialist said he thought he might go home today, but I also think it depends on his cardio and the coumadin issue.......It's never easy.

No fair, he gets to come home after just a few days and I had to stay a week. :D

YAAAY, TYCE IS HOME!!!

Just to let you know that Tyce got "paroled" about 9 this morning. He was sent home on Augmentin and Colchicine....one being for infection and the other for.....are you ready......GOUT! His uric acid test came back absolutely normal, but the plastic surgeon said she always sees it in the normal range for people who have gout. Soooo, his two women drs. got together and gave him both scripts....the gout med only for 5 days.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I'm hoping everything runs smooth from here on out. I really missed that guy!!!
