I had a TEE (TransEsophageal Echocardiogram) yesterday morning while fully anticoagulated.
When I awoke this morning (at home in bed), I recall hearing a gurgling sound like bubbles slowly coming out through a liquid. This was not continuous and discontinued after a few minutes.
This afternoon, I noticed my abdominal muscles (below the sternum on both sides) were 'sore' as if I had done too many situps from an unconditioned state.
The discharge instructions I received said to call the Doctor (or 911) if you "develop sudden severe abdominal or chest pains".
My abdominal soreness is definitely NOT SEVERE and I wouldn't say that it came on suddenly SO, I'm not sure if this is something to be concerned about or not. I'll probably call the Heart Center Friday Morning but really don't want to go to the ER tonight (11 45 pm!)
I'll check this forum when I wake up for thoughts and suggestions.
