Thank you for the good wishes! I am checking into CCF tomorrow, but my surgery may be before the 9th! I received a call from them yesterday instructing me to stop my coumadin immediately as they were going to try and do my cardiac cath before Wednesday, and the surgery sooner also. I think they were probably questioned by my insurance company about the need for the lengthy stay, and decided to speed things up a bit.;) So, I may be over the mountain sooner than planned. Also, CCF has a "care page" type site where you can post your progress. It is at www.mystatus.com The patient name is: arringdale The password is: annie. I will also have my sister post here for my VR family.:)

Again, best wishes next week, Anita. I will check the care page and post any changes in surgery date here as well as any updates. Looking forward to all good news from your sister. Godspeed!

I hope we hear something from Annie or her sister soon. I tried the link to her care page and it didn't work. I tried Cleveland's care page site and her name and password didn't work there either. Hopefully, she or her sister will post soon and let us know if the cath went okay and if she has an earlier surgery date.

Hello there! I wrote down the wrong password for the carepage...I'm getting an early start on pumphead I guess. The correct password is 'annie10'. I had my cath this morning, and all is clear. They are looking at surgery probably Thursday. I am on a heparin drip, and other than walking off and forgetting to grab my IV pole (ouch!) everything is going well. The hospital food isn't bad, and the staff here are wonderful. I haven't met my surgeon yet, but he knows I am here and will come see me the night before the surgery. I brought my digital camera to post a picture, but can't get the hospital computer to let me upload it. I took someone's advice and had my hair cut short before I came here. I look like a boy, but it sure is easy and comfortable! I don't have time right now to read everyone's posts, but I hope you are all well. If I wander during the night (which is likely) I will try and visit again.

Praying for a smooth, successful surgery and recovery for you!!!:)

Wishing you all the best for a successful surgery and uneventful recovery.

Thanks for posting Anita, I will try again with the new password- glad you are doing okay- best wishes for a successful surgery and uneventful recovery.

Again, Best wishes for tomorrow, Anita. Not sure if you had the surgery earlier or it is still on for tomorrow as I still haven't been able to access that site. Just know that our prayers and best wishes are with you and we hope to hear from your sister soon.

Annie did have surgery early. Actually had it Thursday. Just moved to a room today from ICU. She is doing soooooooo good. It is amazing to watch her progress slowly but surely to herself again. She has no more drainage tubes or IV lines in. She will be up tomorrow to start walking around.
She is tired but says it isn't as bad as she expected it to be.

She went on bypass 2 times in surgery. First time Dr. fixed the anurism got her heart going but didn't like the way it looked on the right side. Wasn't beating strong.....so he ended up taking a vein out of her leg and did a by-pass on that side of her heart. The original vein was very small and not giving the blood flow it should have been doing. The by-pass worked great and she should have more energy than she ever had before. Her recovery is just awesome. Not sure when she can go home. Maybe in 4 - 5 days.
Should find out more tomorrow from the doctor. Nitey nite time. Take care.
I'll try to find a computer and get back with you tomorrow and update again.
Lilly
