Continue antibiotics for another 7 days. All of the major redness is gone except a splooch on my ankle and calf. Swelling is unbelieveable and still nothing to treat that at this point. Pain isn't as bad today as it has been. Hope this isn't a one day thing.

did they just call you in a script or did you see the doctor. It should not still be so swollen and painful, I would insist on an ultrasound. A medrol dose pack might make the swelling go down but not necessarily address the cause of the swelling, just suppress your immune response which is causing the swelling. Please get this checked out, we worry about you!!!

When Joe got it again and again, it was always because his skin was stretched way out with swelling from fluid. I believe when that happens, the skin develops microscopic tears that can let in bacteria and cause infection.

That is one of the reasons I was such a stickler about keeping his fluid level as low as possible.

When he did get edema, it was uaually when he was hospitalized and they didn't care at all about keeping his diet well controlled, and low sodium.

So, in my opinion, it doesn't have to be an actual frank tear in the skin.

Ross,
I hope that you are getting better. I have never had this so I am not much help. But I will pray for you and wish you the best. It has been rough on you and very uncomfortable too. Keep us updated on how you are progressing.

A step in the right direction indeed!
push the vit. C! it is a great healer..
hoping you continue to see improvement!

Glad to see there was at least some improvement. I also hope for you that it is not a one day thing. Although I think having fewer reddened areas is very promising. Hope that the swelling will go down soon also.

It's the pits having all this stuff go wrong. Hang in there, it seems like you are in the healing mode now.

Glad to hear things are improving, albeit, sloooowly. Tyce got his from cracked dry skin, so so says his dr. I think she's right. Keep your skin moisturized. He uses mennen body lotion or curel every morning on those feet.......I'm glad things are better for you, but wish this was over and out. Keep us posted.......we worry.

Ross, Glad to read you are having some improvement. I hope each day is better. Take care. Thinking of you.

Today the major redness is gone, but I'm still ballooned and at times, foot feels like it's on fire. Got a huge bottle of Gold Bond Healing Therapy skin treatment. This should do the trick.
