Tonight's (Wednesday 9pm CST) episode of ABC's PRIME TIME - Medical Mysteries includes the case of a young girl born with her organs reversed, including the 'plumbing' of her heart, similar to Janet's daughter Katie.

I watched it too. I am so glad that they can find theses things out when you are younger. I didn't know about my situs inversus and dextracardia till I was 20 yrs old!!!!!! How did I live so long not knowing my organs were not where they are supposed to be? I was shocked but hey I have lived now for 43 yrs. Organs are functioning the best they can. I have 2 spleens(must have stolen my twin brother's) But I am glad they have the technology now to find this when you are born. And have Drs. and hospitals that can take care of us.The ones that are unique

My cousin's appendix was on the wrong side. Another one, married into our family, has something in the wrong place but I forget what organ it is. She manages just fine. Odd.
